Wood Tech-The process

The tools I used:
Steel rule
Tri-square
Mallet
Marking gauge
Wood chisel
Claw hammer
Backed saw
Bench hook

Step 1. I used a paper, pencil and a ruler to make a full size working of my box, so I know that it is possible to create.

Step 2. I used: a ruler, tri-square and a pencil to copy the measurements from my drawing onto the wood.

Step 3. I marked a square line(at 90 degrees) across and vertically using a marking gauge

Step 4. I cut off the first piece of wood using a backed saw and a bench hook.

Step 5. I then marked out the joint on the wood using a marking gauge

Step 6. I then used a backed saw to cut out the line used by a marking gauge.

Step 7. The next thing I did was I used a sharp wood chisel and a mallet to cut out the remaining wood pieces to create the joint.

Step 8. Next thing I did was I added my 140cm piece of wood to my joint and glue it altogether and let it sit for an half an hour.

Collaborative Mystery Solving

Today in the middle block my class and I did a collaborative mystery solving, we had to split up into 2-4 groups. We found this task easy because we could eliminate our suspects by their many alibi's. Though it was easy to find the guilty suspect it was difficult to explain why the others were innocent.

Technology (wood)

I have chosen to make a box to put in jewelry. I think this is the best choice because it can be useful to put anything in it. It will be used for stuff like to put money in or for other stuff. For this project I will have to consider that it will keep my money away from my little sibling.

Cushion reflection

These past few Mondays rm7 and 6 has been going to Tamaki college for technology, I am in the sewing group. I like to do sewing because you can make your own cushion and you can also take it home when you are done. The first five weeks we had to sew on papers going straight before we try it out on the fabric. On week four we got to measure our fabric we then had to cut it and make sure it was the same. In term 2 week 2 we got to sew our fabric. I liked enjoying my time doing sewing because it was my first time sewing.
